Privacy Policy

Nothing on this site is measured. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no session recorder and no embedded widget from another company. The typefaces are served from the same place as the pages, so reading an article here makes no request to anyone else's server.

The site sets no cookies. There is nothing to consent to, which is why no banner asks, and nothing is written to browser storage either. If a browser reports a cookie after a visit here, it came from something other than these pages.

There is nothing to submit

There are no forms. Nothing here asks for a name, a postal address, an email address or a payment detail, because there is nothing to buy, nothing to join and nothing to subscribe to. There are no accounts and no logins, so there is no profile of a reader to hold, sell or lose. The one address the site prints sits on the contact page, and a message sent to it is treated as email: read by the desk, used to answer the message, and passed to nobody.

What the server records

What does exist is the ordinary record any web server keeps. These pages are static files served by a commercial hosting provider, and that provider logs requests in the standard way, which typically covers the requesting network address, the time, the path asked for, the response code and the browser's user agent string. Those logs are the provider's, held under the provider's own retention schedule, and they exist to run and protect the service. This publication keeps no copy of them, and does not read them to decide what to publish or in what order.
